Meta unveils new Llama 4 AI models, with more powerful versions yet to come
Meta introduces its new open-source Llama 4 AI models, including Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick. The most powerful model, Llama 4 Behemoth, is still under development. Learn more about Meta’s AI advancements.

Meta has just unveiled its latest advancements in artificial intelligence with the release of the first models from its Llama 4 lineup. As part of its effort to dominate the generative AI space, Meta has introduced two new models: Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick.
However, the most powerful version of Llama 4, the Llama 4 Behemoth, remains under development and is expected to set new benchmarks for AI technology. The Llama 4 models are already available for use in Meta’s messaging platforms, including WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram Direct.
Meta wants to lead in AI
With Meta now providing cutting-edge and open-source AI solutions, the launch of Llama 4 could be perceived as a direct challenge to other main figures in the AI industry, such as: OpenAI and Google.
As Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's CEO, stated, the goal is to make Llama AI the world's leading AI model, available for everyone.
The power of Llama 4 Behemoth
Despite Llama 4 Scout and Maverick being available to the public, the true giant of this series is Llama 4 Behemoth. While still in training, according to Meta, this model will be able to outpace by far other AIs and become a "teacher" of sorts to future models.
By making Llama 4 free, Meta hopes to gather a community around it in a way where developers and users can both contribute to the advancement of AI.
