On his appearance on the podcast "Call her Daddy" he revealed that his favorite moment in their friendship probably was when he was on the "RED" tour and spend a lot of time together. "We used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of stuff."

However, he also mentioned that now he typically sees Swift about four times a year, "I see her when I see her, you know?". While it's not the same as before, when they do meet, it’s never rushed. Sheeran explained that when they reunite, they have "proper sit down, six-hour catch-ups," which he describes as the ideal way to reconnect

Ed Sheeran's 'Old Phone'

Sheeran also said that he recently got a chance to go down memory lane due to a court case. He explained that he had to go through all of his old devices for the lawyers to have, and while he did this, he saw a lot of all texts from people he has known for a lot of time. "It was really, like, nostalgic.”

While Ed Sheeran has not used a phone since 2015 and now uses a tablet, he stated that switching on his old phone was like "going into a time machine". He saw text from people who have already died, an ex-girlfriend and even a family member he doesn't talk to anymore.

That moment later became inspiration for his latest single, “Old Phone.”
