Prince Harry’s appeal hearing over his U.K. security saw an emotional moment when a woman in the courtroom shouted support for the Duke, criticizing the press. The appeal centers on his security after stepping back from royal duties.

Prince Harry’s appeal hearing in London took an unexpected turn when a woman in the courtroom shouted out in support of the Duke of Sussex, criticizing the press for their role in his ongoing security issues.
The incident occurred on the second day of his appeal, where Harry is fighting to regain the security detail he lost after stepping back from his royal duties. "If you're members of the press, you're the reason he's not in England," she said as Harry exited the courtroom.
Prince Harry's security appeal
Prince Harry is trying to fight off the decision that the U.K. government made regarding his automatic security protection in 2020, which was removed following his departure from the royal family.
He presents the argument that there is an absence of a formal risk assessment. While, the government has only provided him with case-by-case security arrangements, Prince Harry says it is not enough for his or his family needs, given the risks they face.
Prince Harry's legal fight for security
Shaheed Fatima, Prince Harry's lawyer, stated that the human dimension of the case is very important and highlighted the fact that his presence throughout the appeal is a very strong demonstration about how much this case means to him.
"There is a person who is sitting behind me whose safety, whose security and whose life is at stake. There is a person sitting behind me who’s been told he is getting a special bespoke process, when he knows in his experience it is a process that is manifestly inferior in every sense."
