On April 14, 2025, Katy Perry made headlines by joining Blue Origin's first all-female spaceflight, a historic 11-minute journey beyond Earth's atmosphere.

However, the celebration was short-lived as unexpected critiques emerged from both fast-food giant Wendy’s and fellow pop star Kesha.

Wendy’s social media jab to Katy Perry

After the return of the New Shepard to Earth, Wendy’s official X account answered to a post announcing that Katy Perry was back, suggesting to "send her back" to space.

The post implies a lack of enthusiasm not only for Katy Perry's arrival, but for the whole ordeal. The post, obviously, went viral very quickly as many interpreted it as a jab to the singer.

Why did Kesha responded to Wendy's?

After the exchange, Kesha posted a picture of herself while sipping from a Wendy's cup. While it might not seem like much, it is important to know the context behind this.

Kesha has accused Dr. Luke, Katy Perry's producer for her album 143, of sexually, physically, and emotionally abusing her in a 2014 lawsuit. The case was dismissed in 2016, and Katy Perry's new album is the first time they work together in years.

It would not be the first time Kesha makes her distaste of the Perry-Luke reunion known. After rumors about the duo working together, she simply tweeted "lol".

That is why fans are speculating that Kesha's post with the Wendy's cup is a dig at the "Roar" singer, and think it shows she agrees with the food chain's sentiment.
