Here's everything you need to know to start preparing for one of the biggest running events in the world.

When is the London Marathon 2026?

The London Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

When is the London Marathon ballot announced?

The ballot for 2026 opens on Friday, April 25, and closes on Friday, May 2, 2025. You’ll find out whether you’re in by June or July, giving you a couple of months to prepare for the 26.2-mile challenge ahead.

How will cost the entry fee for the London Marathon?

The ballot entry fee is £79.99, up from £69.99 in previous years. If you choose to donate your fee to the London Marathon charity, the fee drops to £49.99. International participants will have to pay higher entry fees.

How much will be the prize money?

The 2025 London Marathon will offer a £41,000 prize for the winners. An additional £112,000 bonus is available for anyone who runs a sub-2:02:00 marathon time for men, or a sub-2:15:00 time for women.

What are the chances of securing a spot?
