Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG: New wearables with 14-day battery life and health monitoring features
Whoop introduces the Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG, offering enhanced battery life, sleeker design, and expanded health tracking—including ECG and blood pressure insights.

Whoop has unveiled its most significant hardware update since 2021 with the launch of two new fitness wearables: the Whoop 5.0 and the Whoop MG. Both devices are designed for continuous, 24/7 wear and feature up to 14 days of battery life—nearly triple the duration of their predecessor, Whoop 4.0.
These updated wearables also come with a sleeker design that is 7% smaller and equipped with a processor that is 60% faster. Alongside the hardware improvements, Whoop has rolled out new in-app features aimed at helping users better understand their health, fitness, and recovery patterns in real time.
What’s new in Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG
The Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG offer comprehensive health tracking capabilities with varying membership tiers. The base tier, Whoop One ($199/year), includes core metrics such as sleep, strain, recovery, and tracking for cardiovascular and muscular effort, menstrual cycles, and pregnancies. The Whoop Peak membership ($239/year) adds real-time vitals monitoring—such as heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature—and a stress monitor with guided breathing exercises.
At the highest tier, Whoop Life ($359/year) includes the advanced Whoop MG device, which offers FDA-cleared ECG readings that can detect irregular heart rhythms. Users can save ECG results as PDFs to share with their doctors. The MG also includes blood pressure insights, a beta feature offering estimated daily ranges based on a manually logged baseline, though it's not intended for diagnostic use.
Healthspan, aging insights, and market impact
A standout feature across all tiers is healthspan, which calculates a user's "Whoop Age" and "Pace of Aging" using nine physiological metrics. Developed in partnership with the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, this feature updates weekly and provides guidance on how to slow biological aging based on lifestyle behaviors.
In addition to wellness insights, Whoop’s newest devices reflect the brand’s long-term strategy to compete in the high-end health wearables market. With new features targeting both general fitness users and those interested in medical-grade data, Whoop continues to expand its relevance and appeal. Accessories for the devices are sold separately, and all models are now available for online purchase.
