Jessica Aber, former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead in her Alexandria home on Saturday morning, March 23, 2025. The Alexandria Police Department responded to a call at 9:18 a.m. regarding an unresponsive woman, later identified as Aber.

Authorities confirmed that the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will determine the cause of death. The police have stated that the case is under investigation as a matter of protocol but have not indicated any signs of foul play at this time.

Who was Jessica Aber?

Jessica Aber led a promminent career as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia from August 2021 up until President Donald Trump's second term. She had been previously nominated by former President Joe Biden for the position and confirmed by the Senate.
