Elon Musk’s latest political backing took a major hit as the Wisconsin Supreme Court election saw his $25 million support for Brad Schimel fall short. Schimel, the Trump-endorsed candidate, lost by a decisive 10 percentage points to liberal challenger Susan Crawford, signaling a major blow to Musk’s growing influence on the political landscape.

Democrats quickly seized on the result, framing it as a repudiation of Musk’s attempts to sway elections and control key political outcomes.

Musk’s influence in Wisconsin Court Race backfires

Despite Musk's financial help, Brad Schimel did not win the Wisconsin Court Race. This election could shape the entirety of Wisconsin's political decisions, such as the topic of abortions and redistricting. Crawford's win means the state will maintain its 4-3 liberal majority.

The Democratic National Committee did not waste any time and posted an image of Elon Musk wearing a cheesehead, the symbol of Wisconsin, with the caption: "loser".

Other main figures like House Representative Jasmine Crockett and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, have both taken to social media to express their happiness over this win.

Susan Crawford celebrates win

Susan Crawford was an atttorney for Planned Parenthood and celebrated her win over Elon Musk's candidate for the role with her supporters.

“As a little girl, I never could have imagined that I’d be taking on the richest man in the world for justice in Wisconsin. And we won,” she declared on Tuesday night.
