Donald Trump's health. What does the White House doctor say about it?

Trump, 78, became the oldest president when he took office. His predecessor, Joe Biden, was not, but left office at 82.

Trump underwent his annual five-hour physical at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. The attending physician, Sean Barbella, indicated that the president is in optimal health and highlighted his excellent heart, lung, and cognitive function.

The medical report noted that he has superficial scarring on his right ear but that his hearing is normal. It is worth mentioning that this report is the first to be released since the attempted assassination of the president by a gunman in July of last year.

Medical Examination Procedures

The president's medical examination took several hours to complete. This was because it was a general and detailed medical examination to determine the president's health status in the various areas that comprise it. These included blood tests, heart tests, and ultrasounds.

In addition, the president underwent neurological examinations assessing his mental status and motor function. The report revealed that the president successfully passed these evaluations, showing no signs of anxiety or depression.

Trump also took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and obtained a perfect score of 30 out of 30. This test, which is used to determine whether a patient has cognitive impairment or signs of dementia, involves naming animals, drawing a clock, and repeating words minutes later.

Trump's Current Medical Conditions

The president currently takes pills to control his cholesterol (Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe), aspirin for heart health, and skin cream (Mometasone). The latter medication is due to a mild skin condition caused by sun exposure.

The president has rosacea, a skin condition that causes redness on the face, as well as a benign colon polyp. For this last condition, Trump underwent a colonoscopy in 2024. Gastroenterologists recommended that he undergo another follow-up colonoscopy in 2027.
