While the moment may have caused laughter, it is important to know that the trophy is supposed to come apart on purpose. Vance, then, posted on social media and jokingly said that he "decided to break the trophy" to make sure no one else could claim it after Ohio State's victory.

Other notable figures like President Donald Trump, Secretary of Defense Marco Rubio, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel, also attended the event.
