U.S. court limits Donald Trump's troop deployment in L.A.
A federal court limits the deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles, California, to curb their intervention in protests.

A federal court ordered the limitation of the National Guard's troop deployment in Los Angeles, California, to stop their intervention in the protests in the state. The order was signed by U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer and prohibits agents from complying with the federal law enforced by President Donald Trump.
According to the AFP agency article, which published the court order, it states: "The government is temporarily prohibited from ordering or deploying the Title 10 Force to enforce or assist federal agents in enforcing federal law or from taking any action beyond (protecting) federal buildings."
California Gov. asked for the Court order
Early on Tuesday, California Governor Gavin Newsom requested the limitation from the U.S. Supreme Court. Someone leaked the move, which became publicly known. This request comes amid the deployment of over 3,500 members of the U.S. military forces, including the National Guard and the Marines.
President Donald Trump said that Governor Newsom should be arrested for his handling of immigration raids in Los Angeles. On his own, a California representative described him as "a tyrant and not a president." Los Angeles is one of the cities known as Sanctuary Cities and is a main target of ICE's raids.

Trump says that it is an invasion
On Tuesday, at the Fort Bragg barracks in North Carolina, Donald Trump made a public appearance. When he gave his speech for the Army's 250th anniversary, he justified the decision to send National Guard and Marine troops, saying that it was an invasion of a "foreign enemy."
The President also said that, if he did not make the move, Los Angeles would be "burning and reduced to ashes." The protest starts peacefully, but then turns violent when they shut down a main highway and self-driving vehicles are set on fire. According to the LAPD, over 50 people were arrested during the weekend.
