Knife-wielding attacker lunges at Officers inside NYC Courthouse, two slashed
In a New York court, a detainee attacked two police officers, wounding them in the face and neck.

A suspect, identified as 37-year-old Jonathan Wohl, armed with a knife, wounded two police officers at a Manhattan courthouse. The officers were slashed in both the neck and face.
The suspect, a Queens native, was seen approaching the metal detectors at the courthouse when he suddenly lunged at a court officer. Wohl then turned and attacked another officer, gruesomely stabbing him. He was immediately restrained against a barrier and handcuffed. This incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m., according to The New York Post.
Authorities investigate unknown motive behind Courthouse attack on security Officers
Local law enforcement sources stated that Wohl did not have a court appearance scheduled for that day. Therefore, it is unusual for him to have been there. The reason for his presence at the courthouse remains unknown.
On the other hand, the motive for the attack is still unclear, but some officials say the suspect was "targeted." The spokesperson for the State Office of Court Administration commented, "The assaults, captured on surveillance video, appear to be a targeted attack on uniformed officers working in the courthouse security detail," the spokesperson said in a statement.
Attacker with 18 prior arrests subdued by Court Officers; injured Officers in stable condition
The spokesperson also detailed the immediate actions taken after the attack at the courthouse: "Several judicial officers rushed to arrest the attacker, subdued him near the magnetometer array, disarmed him, and took him into custody," he stated.
It was reported that the detainee has 18 prior arrests, including three open criminal cases. Furthermore, it was reported that Wohl has consistently harassed court officials whenever the court has been in session. So far, the injured officers have been taken to the hospital and are in stable and optimal condition.
