As CBS prepares for the 2025-2026 season, several popular shows have been axed, leaving fans stunned and curious about what’s next. If you're wondering which shows didn’t make the cut, we've got you covered.

In this article, we'll take a closer look at the four shows that CBS has decided to cancel ahead of the upcoming season. From beloved dramas to quirky comedies, the end of these series leaves a significant hole in the network's roster. Blue Bloods

Fans of Blue Bloods have known since late 2023 that the series would be coming to an end, though many still held out hope that CBS might reverse its decision. Sadly, that didn’t happen, and the beloved family cop drama wrapped up in December after 14 seasons. The series finale offered a satisfying conclusion with Erin and Jack reuniting, Jamie and Eddie expecting a baby, and Danny and Baez seemingly heading for a date.

However, the story isn't over. CBS has greenlit a new spin-off series starring Donnie Wahlberg, who will reprise his role as Danny Reagan. In Boston Blue, Danny moves to Massachusetts for a new job, partnering with the eldest daughter of a well-known law enforcement family. While the premiere date is yet to be announced, the series is set to debut during the 2025-26 season. All 14 seasons of Blue Bloods are currently available for streaming on Paramount+.

FBI: Most Wanted

Lat week, it was announced that FBI: Most Wanted will be ending after its current sixth season. The cancellation of the first FBI spinoff comes as a shock, particularly considering the show’s consistent strong performance alongside the other FBI series on Tuesday nights. While it’s still early, there is a possibility that the show could find a new home elsewhere.

In a related development, another FBI spinoff is in the works. FBI: CIA will have a backdoor pilot later this season, featured on FBI. The new series would follow an FBI agent and a CIA agent as they join forces to form a new task force in New York City. While the cast has yet to be revealed, there’s potential for some familiar faces from Most Wanted to join the new series or FBI. The original FBI show is confirmed through Season 9 on the 2026-27 schedule, so the future of the franchise remains promising. New episodes of FBI: Most Wanted continue to air on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

FBI: International

Last week, CBS also announced the cancellation of the second FBI spinoff, FBI: International, which is currently in its fourth season. The series, which has found a solid spot on Tuesday nights between FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, has done well in the ratings. Despite being set and filmed in a different country, FBI: International has managed to incorporate several crossovers with other FBI shows. While the cancellation may seem final, there’s still hope that International could be saved by another network or streaming platform.

In addition to the possible revival of International, CBS is exploring a new FBI spinoff, FBI: CIA. While it’s unclear whether characters from the FBI franchise will appear, the show could provide an excellent opportunity to continue the International storyline and offer more crossover events with the FBI universe. FBI: International continues to air new episodes on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, so fans can still enjoy the show for now.

S.W.A.T.

After being saved twice by CBS in less than a year, S.W.A.T. has unfortunately been canceled for a third time. The Shemar Moore-led procedural faced its final curtain call when the network announced its cancellation on Thursday. As expected, Moore took to Instagram to express his disappointment and urged other networks and streaming platforms to consider picking up the show.

While the cancellation is certainly a letdown for fans, it’s worth noting that S.W.A.T.'s revival twice in such a short span is an extraordinary feat in itself. Last year, CBS renewed the series for a full 22-episode Season 8, which was a remarkable move. Despite the cancellation, there’s still a glimmer of hope, as shows have been known to find new homes after being canceled. S.W.A.T.’s new episodes continue to air on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS, so viewers can still enjoy the action-packed drama for the time being.
