Ralph Fiennes cast as young President Snow in ‘Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’
Ralph Fiennes has been cast as President Snow in Lionsgate’s upcoming ‘Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,’ a prequel set 24 years before the original series. The film hits theaters November 20, 2026.

Famous actor Ralph Fiennes has been cast to play President Coriolanus Snow in the upcoming prequel ‘Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.’ This Lionsgate production is a prequel set 24 years before the events of the original Hunger Games series.
Up until now, three actors have portrayed this character in the big screen, Tom Blyhte, who played the youngest version in "Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes"; and, Donald Sutherland, as the late actor portrayed the version we first met in the original "Hunger Games" saga.
Ralph Fiennes as President Snow
According to Nina Jacobson, a producer for the film, working with Ralph Fiennes was the goal for this movie. “We wanted to honor Donald Sutherland by having one of this generation’s greatest actors play President Snow, 24 years before Katniss Everdeen entered the arena.”
While it is not necessary to wonder who is Ralph Fiennes, as many of his movies have been nominated for big awards, it is important to acknowledge how his powerful performances are world-wide admired. Jacobson even said that “working with Ralph has been on my bucket list since he traumatized me for life in Schindler’s List".
