Skai Jackson legal battle: temporary restraining order against Deondre Burgin
Skai Jackson has been granted a temporary restraining order against her son’s father, Deondre Burgin, following allegations of physical abuse and threats.

Skai Jackson, former Disney star known for her roles on Jessie and Bunk’d, has been granted a temporary restraining order against her son’s father, Deondre Burgin, after an alleged incident on Mother’s Day.
The order requires Burgin to maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Jackson, their 3-month-old son Kasai, and Jackson’s home. This legal move follows serious accusations of physical abuse, including an attack reportedly occurring while Jackson was holding their child.
Skai Jackson alleges abuse from his baby daddy
According to the court documents filed, since 2024, Burgin has a history of violent behaviour. In June 2024, after a man texted her, Jackson alleges that Burgin choked her and broke her phone trying to force her to drink bleach while pregnant.
Jackson claims that Burgin held her at knife point and attempted to force her to drive to an abortion clinic. When she started to comply, he halted his request to ask her why would she want to "kill" their child.
Skai Jackson's custody battle
In addition to the restraining order, Skai Jackson has also been awarded the sole custody of their child, Kasai. This means Burgin is not alllowed to get near her or the kid. The judge also mandated that the father must surrender any firearms and or ammunition he might have.
This, due to an incident the ex-Disney star recounted in the lawsuit in which Burgin had slammed her against the bathroom wall and choked her until she "could not breathe", while he threatened her with a handgun. Jackson claims to have video evidence of the encounter.
