State of Play 2025: A Marvel's fighting game, Final Fantasy and more PlayStation Games presented!
Sony has launched its State of Play 2025 at Summer Game Fest, revealing new PlayStation 5 exclusive titles including Mortal Kombat, Digimon and a remake of Metal Gear 3.

Sony's State of Play 2025 finally launched at this year's edition of Summer Game Fest. The company showed game trailers, announcements, and release dates of their new PlayStation 5 exclusive games. After months of silence, the event showed the most important projects they are working on.
Mortal Kombat, Digimon, Ghost of Yotei were some of the new projects around the PS5. But there are some surprises, like a new Marvel Game, a new entry in the 007 video game saga, and a remake of the iconic Metal Gear 3. Let's see the most important announcement of the conference!
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
It is well known by everyone that Marvel and Sony have a strong bond around their comic character adaptations. But, the last announcement, the star of the night, surprised everyone: A 2D fighting game. Fans were waiting for a new Marvel vs. Capcom game, but the result did not disappoint. The game has the same soul as the Capcom crossover, with a tag-team gameplay that allows the player to switch characters between combos and get help from them. Tokon will also be on PC, and it will be released in 2026.
Another fighting game stole the night. The mythical Mortal Kombat saga, by Netherrealm Studios, presented "Legacy Kollection". This is a collection of all their arcade games, from the first Mortal Kombat to Mortal Kombat 4. The game will be launched in 2025 and it could be played on PS4.

Another Big Announcements
On the main list of announcements, there are Digimon Story: Time Stranger, a move-turn RPG with amazing graphics that will be released on October 3. Bloodstained, the Castlevania successor, also presented "The Scarlet Engagement," but it will be released in 2026. For Final Fantasy fans, Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles will be released in September, with the classic version of the game. 007 First Light presented an action trailer based on an unconfirmed release date.
A Silent Hill f trailer also appeared, confirming its release date on September 25. The game shows some new in-game mechanics, like grabbing a steel tubing to defend against the monsters. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound presented a pixel-art design and gameplay and is going to be launched on July 31. Other games announced were Carin, Nioh 3, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadows, Tides of Tomorrow, Sword of the SEA, Capcom's Pragmata, and Romeo is a Dead Man.
