HBO casts Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy in new Harry Potter's series
HBO has revealed new cast members for the Harry Potter series, including Molly Weasley, the Dursleys and Draco Malfoy, announced Monday.
HBO released new cast members for the new Harry Potter Series. Molly Weasley, The Dursleys, and Draco and Lucius Malfoy are some of the beloved characters that already have their TV show portrayers announced this Monday.
Johnny Flynn, the musician and actor, is the new Lucius Malfoy, the father of Draco, Harry's rival at Hogwarts. The new wizard-kid will be played by Lox Pratt. In the original movie saga, Jason Isaacs portrayed Lucius, and Tom Felton portrayed Draco.

Other actors confirmed
Other actors confirmed by HBO are Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby, who will play the Dursleys, Harry's uncles. Katherine Parkinson has been cast as Molly Weasley, the matriarch of the iconic red-headed family. Cornelius Fudge, a magical Minister, will be portrayed by Bertie Carvel. Finally, they announced the latest wizard students, such as Leo Early as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni, and Sienna Moosah.
Early this month, HBO announced the cast of the iconic trio of the saga: Arabella Stanton, Dominic McLaughlin, and Alastair Stout as Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley. Other actors confirmed are John Lithgow, Janet McTerr, Paapa Essiedu, and Nick Frost as the iconic teachers at Hogwarts.

A book for each season
This new TV show promises to be more faithful to the books. Since each book will represent a season, just like Game of Thrones, it will have plenty of time to develop and explore more things and situations that were left behind in the movies. Some fans want to see more Quidditch, the main sport of the Wizarding World.
There is no official release date yet, but HBO keeps presenting their cast while fans are still hyped for the result. It will likely be released at some point in 2026. However, since the entire cast has not been announced yet, it could be premiered at the end of 2026. But we have to remember that the first book happens in the middle of the year, meaning that HBO could premiere the TV show in July.
