Justin Bieber says he’s “broken” and has anger issues in emotional Instagram post after Father’s Day
Justin Bieber, now a father, reflected on his struggles with identity, anger and faith in a candid Instagram message.

Justin Bieber made himself vulnerable to his followers this week in a notable Instagram post that has gained comments from across pop culture. The 31-year-old musician, now a father, took his audience through a timeline of struggles with anger, identity, and the pressure to "fix" himself.
The post came one day after his first Father's Day and shared a side of the pop star we don't usually get to see. Justin called attention to feeling emotionally drained and exhausted by the notion of needing to "fix" himself. Instead of sharing the polished version of fatherhood, Justin admitted to feeling broken but had faith in the Lord.
A raw message on identity and faith
In an open letter to his public, Bieber confessed to living with chronic anger and emotional burnout. He acknowledged that trying to please others' expectations, those people who told him he had to get "fixed" simply enraged him further. "Don't you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already?" he wrote, pointing out the fatigue of having to try to become someone else all along.
Bieber also wrote about how his efforts to expand necessarily made him think too much about himself. He attributed his Christian upbringing with helping him reverse that inward focus. "Jesus is the one who makes me want to make my life all about others," he wrote, ending the post in a state of emotional depletion, wondering whether all that navel-gazing had given him relief.

Fatherhood shared, but personal turmoil remains
Last Sunday, Bieber published 18 images to Instagram, including many with middle finger emojis in the captions. Among them were some private photos of his wife Hailey, and their son Jack. Some included Hailey and Jack playing with the piano together, another was Jack's small hand with a bracelet, and others were peaceful family moments I can only imagine. These were a personal look into Bieber's life only a few months into fatherhood after Jack was born in August 2024.
Some of the posts express some reservation, while some express gratitude. Bieber's post for his first Father's Day had the all caps caption, "I'm a dad that's not to be f... with." And another was a close-up of his face. And the last had him lying on the floor. One could argue being a parent is exhilarating. As a whole, however, it seems like the general theme of his posts is a more emotional undertone.
