Life 360: These are the most dangerous cities to drive in Florida
The study, based on phone sensor data, indicates that Florida is home to five of the eight cities with the highest risk on the road. Users admitted to technological distractions and non-driving activities.

Life360's recent report has put the spotlight on driving practices in the United States, especially in Florida, where Miami and Fort Lauderdale stand out as the most dangerous cities to drive in. The research is based on the analysis of data obtained from the app sensors embedded in cell phones.
According to the study, five of the eight cities with the highest risks on the roads are in Florida. The results are based on metrics such as violent braking, rapid acceleration and crashes at speeds above 25 miles per hour.
Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the most dangerous cities
Miami and Fort Lauderdale lead the list of areas with the highest incidence of traffic accidents in Florida. But they also lead it nationally. Life360 ranked Fort Lauderdale as the second city in the United States with the most events related to most accelerations.
The research also highlighted the frequency of dangerous maneuvers in these areas, such as sharp turns and sudden braking. These actions, recorded using GPS technology and embedded sensors, allowed Life360 to identify the most dangerous hotspots. In addition, anonymized data collection allowed for trend analysis without compromising driver information.
Dangerous movements and the technology role
The report revealed that a lot of drivers have dangerous driving habits. Among the most common is the use of mobile devices, with 86% of participants admitting to technological distractions, such as texting or checking apps.
Also, 27% of drivers admitted to engaging in non-driving activities, such as applying makeup or changing clothes, increasing the risk of crashes. Life360 used this data to create detailed risk profiles, providing a unique perspective on Florida's road safety challenges.

Life360's advanced technology for driving safety
Life360 used more than 60 billion data points from 55 million users in the United States. The app uses advanced sensors and geolocation technology to monitor events such as hard braking, rapid acceleration and collisions in real time.
Those sensors, combined with anonymized data, has positioned Life360 as an essential tool for improving road safety in urban and suburban areas of Florida. These records facilitate the monitoring of young and new drivers.
