The segment humorously dissected the tense moments in the Oval Office and the bizarre moments surrounding Musk’s leadership in his so-called Department of Government Efficiency.

Colin Jost and Michael Che tackled the absurdity of the meeting and the controversial AI-generated videos that circulated. They also didn't miss the chance to joke about Musk’s eccentric behavior and his strict demands for federal employees, delivering sharp one-liners that had the audience laughing at the strange political dynamics playing out in the news.

SNL mocks Trump-Zelensky meeting

Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update humorously covered Friday's tense Oval Office meeting between Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as Elon Musk’s latest demands on federal workers.

Co-anchor Colin Jost kicked off by commenting on Trump repeatedly telling Zelensky that he was "gambling with World War III" and joking that the meeting went “pretty good.” He then added, "Thanks to that meeting, now you actually can gamble on World War III on Fan Duel."

Jost continued by pointing out Trump’s scolding of Zelensky, telling him, "You have real problems." He quipped, "Yeah, man! He’s in a war! No one’s asking to borrow missiles to take the party to the next level."

Later, Jost referenced Zelensky’s belief, expressed during a Fox News interview, that he could still salvage his relationship with Trump, comparing it to Justin Baldoni saying, “I’d love to work with Blake again.”

Michael Che pokes fun at AI video of Trump kissing Musk's feet

Michael Che then brought up an AI-generated video of Trump featuring belly dancers, a hotel with his name, and him and Israeli President Netanyahu lounging on a beach in Gaza, which was titled “ISIS recruitment ad.” Che joked, “The video was titled, ‘ISIS recruitment ad.'”

Jost also referenced another AI-produced video showing Trump kissing Elon Musk’s feet, which reportedly aired on internal monitors at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Jost joked, "You can tell the video is AI because in it, Trump is able to bend."

Lastly, Jost poked fun at Musk, head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), who was recently seen at the Conservative Political Action Conference with a chainsaw and sunglasses. Jost commented, "Elon Musk, seen here letting ketamine take the wheel," and referenced Musk's demand for federal employees to list five things they did last week or face firing, joking, “which was easier for Elon to do because all five of his were, ‘Got a lady pregnant.'”

Musk’s 14th known child was recently announced by Shivon Zilis, a Neuralink executive, with whom Musk now has four children.
