The famous streaming platform, Netflix, has released the long-awaited trailer for the new chapters of its series Black Mirror season 7. The trailer revealed a sequel to USS Callister, a chapter that was the first episode of its fourth season. Here are all the details of the video and even the release date for season 7 of the Netflix series.

The popular science fiction anthology series created by Charlie Brooker premieres what is now its seventh season on the streaming service, which will arrive almost two years later than the previous one with six new episodes full of familiar faces. Will Poulter returns by surprise to play his character again from the legendary interactive episode 'Bandersnatch', and an episode that will be the sequel of 'USS Callister'.

Black Mirror returns: When is the release date?

This new installment promises to maintain the characteristic style of the series, exploring science fiction stories with a satiric tone. It is set to return on April 10th.

Brooker has teased that this season will include six episodes, two of which will have a length similar to that of a feature film. According to the creator, the episodes will vary in tone, from “deeply unpleasant” to “funny” and “emotional.”

Furthermore, Brooker has highlighted that this season represents a return to the roots of the series, with stories focused on science fiction and disturbing moments, although not necessarily in the style of a horror film.

Season 7 trailer: Is there a USS Callister sequel?

Although the series has always respected its anthological format, with self-contained stories in each chapter, over the years the connections between them have increased. Either through winks or even with a chapter that served to connect all the episodes under the same universe. Now, 14 years after its beginning, 'Black Mirror' presents for the first time a sequel to one of its chapters, 'USS Callister.'

In this seventh installment, Cristin Milioti returns to continue the story of 'USS Callister', one of the most popular (and longest) episodes of 'Black Mirror', in which a programmer creates a virtual reality similar to the 'Star Trek' universe. Here, he introduces his co-workers. But this will not be the only story that Brooker will take up in the new season.

The comeback of Will Poulter is revealed, who returns as the video game designer Colin Ritman, whom we met in the legendary interactive episode 'Bandersnatch'. This special premiered in 2018, causing a lot of stir due to the “choose your own adventure” format applied to streaming, which Netflix has continued to use in some of its titles, although not as frequently, or with as much impact, as expected.

Issa Rae and Paul Giamatti join the stellar cast

The trailer, accompanied by a creepy piano version of 'Dream a Little Dream of Me', is as disconcerting and strange as you would expect from this series. Or even more. In it, images from the different episodes are interspersed (including one in black and white).

Season 7 has a wealth of stars joining the cast, including:
