John Wick 5 officially confirmed with Keanu Reeves returning
Keanu Reeves is set to reprise his role as the iconic hitman in John Wick 5. Additionally, the John Wick universe expands with a new animated prequel and spinoff featuring Ana de Armas.

The John Wick franchise isn’t done yet. After the emotional conclusion of John Wick: Chapter 4, fans were left wondering about the future of the iconic assassin. At CinemaCon 2025, Lionsgate confirmed that John Wick 5 is officially in development, with Keanu Reeves returning to the role that cemented him as one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars.
The news comes alongside other exciting announcements in the John Wick universe, including a new animated prequel and another spinoff movie. Ballerina, the upcoming spinoff starring Ana de Armas, will be hitting theaters in June, expanding the universe further.

Additionally, after revealing a fifth John Wick movie, Lionsgate announced an animated prequel still in the works which will explain the famous "impossible task", the legendary mission that turned John Wick into the deadliest hitman in the world.
The announcement of a spinoff featuring Donnie Yen was another revelation. The film, tittled Caine, will be about the bind assassin who was introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4. Donnie Yen is also set to direct the film.
