Originally scheduled from May 30 to June 2, 2025, Fyre Festival 2 was expected to bring a luxurious music experience to Isla Mujeres.

This announcement comes just weeks before the festival was set to take place in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

Ticket refunds and new dates pending

On April 16, ticket holders received a message stating that the event has been delayed, with no new dates or location confirmed. According to organizers, refunds were issued to all ticket holders, and they will be able to repurchase tickets once the new dates are announced.

General tickets for the event cost up to $1,400, and has faced multiple delays and location issues. First Isla Mujeres in March and now Playa del Carmen, as the city has also denied permission to proceed.

Billy McFarland’s bold comeback

Billy McFarland is the organizer behind this event and the original Fyre Festival debacle in the Bahamas, 2017. The original Fyre Festival was promoted as a high-end event with many influencers and big-name models promised.

However, the luxury accommodations they expected turned out to be makeshift tents and folding chairs. The event would later inspire two documentaries, Netflix's FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened and Hulu's Fyre Fraud.

After serving time for fraud regarding the event, McFarland is eager to redeem himself. "I'm sure many people think I'm crazy for doing this again, but I feel I’d be crazy not to," he stated in 2023
