Missing Princeton student found dead at Lake Carnegie
Princeton University student Lauren Blackburn, who went missing on April 19, was found dead at Lake Carnegie on April 25. The community mourns the loss of the 23-year-old.

Princeton University undergraduate student Lauren Blackburn, 23, was found dead at Lake Carnegie on the morning of April 25, following nearly a week of being missing.
The search for Blackburn, who had not been seen since April 19, began after she was last spotted near Firestone Library on the university’s campus.

Blackburn was a bright student who won the National Merit Scholar in 2019. She was known for her academic excellence and as her high school teacher, Kate Robinson, described her, she was highly intelligent and had a photographic memory. She was also a staff writer for the student-run newspaper, The Daily Princetonian.
Authorities focused their efforts around Lake Carnegie, a reservoir located near Princeton's campus, as Blackburn's phone was traced to the area. Despite the ongoing investigations, it is still unclear if foul play was involved in her death.

Princeton University’s Department of Public Safety expressed great sadness over Blackburn's death and extended his condolences to her family and friends.
At the same time, Vice President for Student Life, W. Rochelle Calhoun, addressed the students, asking them to keep Lauren Blackburn in their thoughts in times like this.
