Who is Cassie Ventura? The key witness in Diddy's trial
R&B singer Cassie Ventura is set to testify against her ex, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, in his federal trial for sex trafficking and abuse.
Cassie Ventura, the R&B singer known professionally as "Cassie," will play a pivotal role in the ongoing federal trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs. Allegations from Ventura, who was in a long-term relationship with the music mogul, started the case in 2023.
However, while Combs denied the allegations, the 2 reached for an undisclosed settlement. Soon after that, many civil lawsuits appeared from other victims, from both men and women, which accused Diddy of sexual violence.
Ventura is expected to testify about the emotional and physical abuse she allegedly endured, including forced sex acts and being coerced into performing these acts under duress.
Who is Cassie Ventura?
Cassandra, "Cassie" Ventura is an R&B singer who debuted in the music industry in the mid-2000s. Soon after her debut album was launched, Cassie and Combs started a relationship. In 2007, Combs made her the face of his fashion line, Sean John.
However, while her life through their 11-year-old relationship might have appeared glamorous, the truth was much worse. Behind the parties, the luxury and Hollywood events, there were beatings, abuse and sexual humiliation, according to prosecutors.
Allegations against Diddy: abuse, sex trafficking, and coercion
Sean Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and pleaded not guilty to five counts of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. However, one of the women who accused him of this, was Cassie Ventura, whom he allegedly forced to take part in "Freak Offs" parties held by Combs where he drugged women and force them to take part in sex acts with him and sometimes male prostitutes.

According to U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson, Diddy "was on the hunt" for Ventura as he tried to blackmail her with tapes of these "Freak Offs" when he found out she was in a relationship. The tapes showed the sexual encounters he forced upon Ventura, having sex with male escorts.
