Coachella threatened by bomb scare: California man arrested after warning of attack

A California man, Davis Darvish, was arrested after allegedly threatening to bomb the Coachella festival. No explosives were found, and he remains in custody with a $1 million bail.

A bomb scare at the world-renowned Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival led to the arrest of a California man on April 12, 2025.

Davis Darvish, 40, from Santa Monica, allegedly told security personnel at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California, that he planned to bomb the festival, which was already underway at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Davis Darvish approach casino security right before 11 a.m. and allegedly made a bomb threat. While authorities promptly reacted and the festival's security team was notified, the threat cause concern, as Coachella is one of the biggest audiences. The high profile of the event, and the number of possible casualties, meant that even a false alarm would cause significant disruption.

After the threat, authorities were able to locate Darvish's car in Palm Springs. While no weapons or bombs were found in the Tesla he was driving, he was arrested and remains in custody at the John J. Benoit Detention Center with a $1 million bail.

Coachella continued amidst the threat

Cathedral City Police Department continues to investigate the incident and who did Darvish had contact with at the casino, but the Coachella festival continued as planned.

Security teams were able to guarantee everyone's safety while the authorities handled the situation.
