J.D. Vance on Musk post against Trump: "It is a huge mistake"
The feud began on social media when Musk criticized the Trump administration and deleted a post accusing him of being linked to Epstein documents.

Vice President JD Vance called Elon Musk's accusations against President Donald Trump regarding his involvement in Jeffrey Epstein's case a "huge mistake." The VP participated in This Past Weekend, hosted by comedian Theo Von. He speculated that the budget reconciliation bill with Congress allowed Musk to make those posts.
"I think it's a huge mistake for him to go after the president like that. And I think that if he and the president are in some blood feud — most importantly — it's going to be bad for the country, but I think it's going to be, I don't think it'll be good for Elon either," Vance said. "His businesses are being attacked nonstop. They're literally like firebombing some of his cars."
Musk and Trump social media feud
The President and the Tesla owner worked together early this year. However, Musk resigned from his leadership role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and criticized the administration's "Big Beautiful Bill." But the tensions between them started on Thursday, when they began to attack each other on social media.
Vance also defended the bill, saying that it is a way to prevent the biggest tax increase, but he recognized that the bill is not perfect. "The process in D.C., if you're a business leader, you probably get frustrated with that process because it's more, you know, bureaucratic. It's more slow-moving. So I think there's just some frustrations there."

Musk deleted the accusation post
The most commented-on post of the feud was the one accusing the president of being involved in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files. Musk recently deleted this post, even when he said that people should "mark this post for the future." The other tweets related to the feud are still landing on his X account.
In the interview, Vance said that he hopes the South African businessman will "come back into the fold," but he feels the possibility is distant due to the accusatory tweet. The Vice President also said that Trump did not do anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein.
