The 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards, was held on Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The winners included stars such as Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore, whose roles in the films A complete unknown and The Substance received positive reviews from both public and critics alike.

The annual ceremony was hosted by actress Kristen Bell after she previously presented in 2018. The winners were voted on by the thousands of active SAG-AFTRA union members, which makes it the only major awards show to be determined solely by actors’ peers and comes ahead of the Oscars on March 2.

Who stole the spotlight at the SAG awards 2025?

At the ceremony in Los Angeles, Timothée Chalamet became the youngest winner of the Best Actor category for his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. The 29-year-old actor had a speech that showed his ambition to achieve greatness in the film industry. He was praised online for these words.

Another surprise was the shocking win of Demi Moore, the 62-year-old actress won the Best Actress category for her role in the outstanding movie The Substance. In her speech, the celebrity recalled the “deeply meaningful” moment when she received her SAG card as a 16-year-old teen back in 1978. Moore also emphasized the importance of emotions and human connection in acting.
