Guillermo "Memo" del Bosque, a prominent Mexican television producer known for his work with Televisa, passed away at 64 due to complications from a prolonged illness. His wife, actress Vica Andrade, and their three children—Luca, Luna, and Coral—survive him. ​

Memo del Bosque: From battling cancer to shaping Mexican TV culture

In 2017, Memo was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer affecting the lymphatic system. After intensive treatment, including chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, he was declared cancer-free in 2020. However, in March 2025, he experienced a relapse, leading to hospitalization in Texas, where he received medical care. ​

Memo's career spanned over three decades, during which he significantly influenced Mexican television. He was instrumental in launching Telehit, a music and entertainment channel that became a youth culture staple. His production credits include popular shows like "100 Mexicanos Dijieron" and "La Jaula," which showcased his talent for creating engaging content. ​

Throughout his illness, Memo remained grateful for the unwavering support of his family and friends. In his final message, he expressed appreciation for the love he received and reflected on his life's journey, stating, "Fue un largo viaje de experiencias y emociones que agradezco haber vivido y compartido con cada uno." ​
