ABC News suspends Terry Moran after critical X post about Trump and Stephen Miller
Veteran correspondent, Terry moran, suspended after calling Trump and Miller “world-class haters” in now-deleted post on X.

ABC News has suspended senior national correspondent Terry Moran after he posted on the social media platform X, calling President Donald Trump and his former deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller "world-class haters." The post was made just after midnight, although it was deleted shortly thereafter, and it quickly attracted condemnation from Trump administration officials, along with a response from ABC News shortly thereafter.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt publicly condemned Moran's comments, calling on the network to take disciplinary action. "Hopefully, this journalist will either be suspended or terminated," Leavitt said on Sunday morning Fox News. Later in the day, ABC confirmed that Moran had been suspended, saying that the post violated newsroom standards.

X post described as personal attack on Trump and Miller
In the deleted X post, Moran argued that Trump views hatred to promote himself by calling it “his spiritual nourishment,” while also claiming that Miller’s personal philosophy is based on hate, writing, “He eats his hate.” The post was an unusual instance of direct political commentary from a mainstream journalist, especially one who had recently sat down with Trump in an extremely rare Oval Office interview.
The ABC company responded that it does not allow personal attacks and upholds impartiality in its journalistic work. They announced that Moran's views did not represent those of ABC News and confirmed his suspension pending further developments. The length of the suspension is currently unknown.

Officials react as controversy draws national attention
Stephen Miller responded using X, stating that Moran’s post was a sign of media bias that has persisted, and although it disclosed that other major news outlets were pure evil, "The mask has been pulled off Terry." Vice President JD Vance also responded and defended Miller as "you are merely motivated by love of country" and demanded that ABC apologize.
Miller was a key supporter of former President Donald Trump's immigration agenda, and the threats against him included being the subject of a 2020 book called Hatemonger. Nevertheless, Moran's blunt comments were viewed as breaking the unwritten code of journalistic neutrality, triggering discussion about the obligations of high-profile reporters on their own social media accounts.
